CAIRO ? Thousands have poured into Cairo?s Tahrir Square for a demonstration seeking to unify demands stemming from the popular uprising that ousted former President Hosni Mubarak.
The rally comes amid rifts between liberal groups and Islamists over key demands, five months after Mubarak?s ouster.
Liberal parties want a set of agreed-upon guidelines for drafting a new constitution after parliamentary elections later this year. Egypt?s military rulers who took power after Mubarak left accept the idea.
