GameDevBlog: Announcing: That's Drama - Call for Playtesting

My latest side-project is at a place where I'm excited to show it to people - and get feedback, playtesting, and all that good stuff.

It's not a video game; it's a story game. I've made a bunch of these lately, and everything I've learned so far has gone into this one.

This game is intended to be particularly accessible - so I can play it with family and friends who don't consider themselves gamers. But it also has more advanced rules for hardcore story gamers.

Getting table games playtested is a whole new thing for me. Ideally, I'd be sitting behind a one-way window, watching a group of people try to learn and play the thing blind. But I don't have Microsoft's usability labs at my disposal like we did with Schizoid.

So, instead, I'm making this offer: if you're willing to make an audio recording of a session of your play, I will send you a deck, free, so you can make that recording. What I'd particularly like is to hear non-story-gamers try it, but I'll take what I can get.

Supplies are limited! (What a crock. Money is limited.) So I'll do it for the first six people who respond - Joel Spolsky's magic number for a usability test.

See more details here.
